OXtender for Microsoft Outlook

OXtender for Microsoft Outlook

The goal of the OXtender for Microsoft Outlook is to enable end users using Outlook as a rich client to work directly with Open-Xchange Server.
The OXtender for Microsoft Outlook synchronizes:

  • Calendar
  • Contacts
  • Tasks
  • Folders

The OXtender for Microsoft Outlook works in real time by communicating directly with the server. It is engineered to produce very fast response times, allowing teams to work as efficiently as possible. The OXtender also has offline capabilities, making it possible to work even without an internet connection.

Open-Xchange Server embeds OX Public, Shared and System Folders in the Microsoft Outlook Folder view. These folders can be used to access information (such as shared contact lists) stored on the server.

The most relevant features at a glance:

  • Synchronization of Calendar, Tasks and Contact

Open-Xchange Server can work with Microsoft Outlook and a wide variety of clients, browsers and personal data assistants (PDA's) simultaneously because it is based on open standards and API's; we call this value proposition Universal Access. For more information on this concept, please read Dan Kusnetzky’s White Paper on Universal Access.
